The Third Green Marketing Award Results Coming Out!

So-called Green Consumers are those people when shopping would consider the impacts products have toward the environment and thus choose those products that have less harm to or even beneficial for the environment. Through consumers’ actively promoting green consuming, we hope to change production and sale characteristics of manufacturers, so as to decrease the pollution burdens and garbage problems on earth. Due to the fact that consumers are not well-informed about whether a product’s production conforms to environmental principles, internationally Green Mark certification system is the base from which consumers rely on for selecting green products. In the award ceremony of the 3rd Green Marketing Award hosted by Environmental Protection Administration, Rong-Sin Store at Longtan township, Taoyuan county, and Hsiou-Tsai village office at Yangmei township won Outstanding Green Shop Award and Green Community Award respectively. Rong-Sin Store is the only shop selling Green Mark products in Taiwan. In the front door there is a Green Mark banner showing “Protect Our Home/ Be Environmental;” inside the store there are used products section and environmental handcrafts and recycling section. In the future, the store also plans to set up organic vegetable section to sell healthy and unpolluted vegetable and fruits. Environmental education and community’s environmental industries promotion are recent policies of Hsiou-Tsai village: At least twice a year there would be promotion activities for decreasing garbage and encouraging recycling. The officer of the village, Mr. Hsu, also actively persuades in-village Jin-Mei Store and plumbers to transform into Green shops—Jin-Mei Store had won the 3rd place of Individual Channel Businesses of 2006 Green Marketing Award. We are more than a county focused on industries and businesses—we pay much attention to daily lives as well. All people in this county sweat for a better local living environment and would eventually make the county a Green county!
